Egyptian Fin-Tech Landscape 2024
In just under a decade, Egypt went from one of the least financially included countries in the world, with barely 1 in 8 adults holding a bank account in 2014, to a nation where 70.7% do today, and this report tells the story of how that happened. It profiles the 177 startups and payment providers behind a 5.5-fold increase in Fintech companies over five years, crediting homegrown names like Fawry, MNT-Halan, and ValU as much as policy reform. It closes by looking at the obstacles the sector still faces and the opportunities still waiting to be seized.
